Frequently Asked QuestionsOpen Figure SessionsQ: What materials should I bring to the open figure sessions?: A: Artists are permitted to use any odourless materials. For oil painting, you may use any odourless mineral spirits. Artists are responsible for bringing their own materials. Q: Are there easels/table space available to work on?: A: Yes. There are easels and table space available for artists. Although there is an ample amount for artists, it is encouraged to bring your own portable easel if you have one. Q: How long is each pose? A: A single pose will last a minimum of 3 hours. Typically a maximum of 4 consecutive sessions(12 hours) will be spent on a single pose. This is usually determined unanimously with the group of artists, according to their wishes. Q: Are there breaks? A: Yes. The model will hold a pose for either 20 or 25 minutes at a time, with 5 minute breaks in between. There is also a long break around the halfway point, of 20 minutes. Q: I haven't figure drawn in 20 years. Is this a good place for me to pick it up again? A: Yes. The open figure sessions are a good place to re-ignite your old passion for figure drawing. You will find a wide range of skill levels at the studio. |
